ABOUT US

​I am Daria Eugene, born and raised on the Caribbean island of Dominica, where I’ve lived all my life. I am married with three adult children, and I am the energy and passion behind the Cooking with Daria brand.

I am Daria Eugene, born and raised on the Caribbean island of Dominica, where I have lived all my life. I am married with three (3) adult children, and I am the energy and passion behind the Cooking with Daria brand. 

My formal training is in Information Technology / Management Information Systems and I have worked for almost twenty years in this field in Corporate Dominica, before branching out into self-employment. I have many hobbies and amuse myself in a variety of ways, from jewelry making with fish scales to interior decorating and design, choir leading, and song writing – to gardening, floral arranging, crafting, fishing, and cooking. I don’t know what boredom is! I come from a large family of seven siblings, and like all Caribbean girls, I have spent a fair amount of time in the kitchen. So with the guidance of my Mom and eldest sister Amorette, coupled with three years of Food and Nutrition classes at Secondary School level, I quickly learned to make scrumptious and tasty dishes from a very young age.   With continuous streams of compliments about my cooking skills, I grew in confidence and began creating my own recipes and rustling up yummy, nutritious meals at home, and once out of High School I added catering to the list of other things I got involved in. Decades later I launched my Cooking with Daria brand, and since 2008, I have been welcoming guests to my family home and sharing the best of Caribbean cuisine.
